Department of Commerce

The B. Com degree course was introduced in our college during the year 1983. As most of the students were from rural area the input was naturally below average level. Due to the efforts of the department, the output was very good. The department has produced many University rank holders, State level players and competitors in various activities.

As per the instruction of the Tamil Nadu Government Shift II was introduced in the year 2006 and an additional of 64 students are also admitted due to high demand.

About

In the year 2010, the department is elevated as PG department after the introduction of M.Com. Degree and have marched into a Glorious upgradation as Research Department in the year 2014-15 by the introduction of M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses. We are pride in producing four full time scholars and nine Part time Ph.D. research scholars so far and at present four full time scholars and four Part-time Scholars are pursuing research in our department. Every year the III-year students are taken to a nearby village under the outreach programme to conduct a study on the social problems of the village. The students interact with the villagers and guide them in a proper way. The students also submit a report to the department about the study. PG Students are taken to Industrial Visit every year. The department has got a name and fame for its academic excellence with highly qualified teaching staff.
