The Department was started in the year 1993 and propagates the light of education and knowledge amongst the students of remote regions of Tirunelveli who want to pursue education by overcoming the hurdles of their day to day life. The Department has competent faculty imbued with a noble mission of producing disciplined, competent, socially committed and morally upright intellectuals through education to young and promising students for their empowerment and growth. All eight permanent staff members of Shift I were recruited through the Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai.
