The Physics department of Rani Anna Government College for Women was established in 1970 as Ancillary department. The B.Sc. degree programme was started in the year 1998 and in 2013 M.Sc. programme was started and it has been elevated as research department in the year 2017. The physics department intends to impart high quality physics education equip students for Global Physics Competence. It also provides conducive atmosphere for promoting research and creative activities among facility and students. The major areas of research are Nuclear Physics, Spectroscopy, Radiation Physics and Material science. The faculty members are collaborating with the professors and Scientists working in various national level organizations. In the department it has enough books and journals for the use of students.
