The Department of Sociology was established in the year 2015 with the UG course in Sociology. The department is focusing on three major areas namely academic, research and extension activities at the UG level. The Departmental syllabus seeks to incorporate a wide range of subjects and issues under its purview, an approach which is highly conducive for interdisciplinary orientation in contemporary times. The Department disseminates qualitative and standardized education and trains students in both qualitative and quantitative aspects enabling them to contribute quality sociological knowledge. The Department encourages students to engage in serious academic discourse leading to understanding of society through active participation in and outside classroom.
