நெல்லை மாநகரில் இன்னுமொரு பெண்கள் கல்லூரி வேண்டும் என்ற நெல்லை மக்களின் நீண்டநாள் விருப்பம், இக்கல்லூரி வரவால் 1970-ம் வருடம் நிறைவேறியது. மாநில அரசின் உதவியோடு நெல்லை மக்கள் ஒத்துழைப்பும் ஒருசேரக் கிட்டியதால் இக்கல்லூரி நன்கு வளர வாய்ப்பேற்பட, நெல்லை மாவட்ட ஆட்சியாளரைத் தலைவராகக் கொண்டு அமைக்கப்பட்ட இக்கல்லூரிக் குழுவில் நெல்லை வாழ் ஆன்றோர் சிலரும் உறுப்பினர்களாயினர். கல்லூரிக் குழுவிலுள்ள மக்கள் கட்டிட நிதிக்காக 5 லட்சம் ரூபாயை நன்கொடையாக அளித்தனர். நெல்லையிலுள்ள காந்திநகர் பகுதியில் செயல்படும் இக்கல்லூரியின் நிரந்திரக் கட்டடத்திற்காக அருகிலுள்ள அபிஷேகப்பட்டி அரசு கால்நடைப் பண்ணையிலிருந்து 40 ஏக்கர் நிலத்தைப் பெற்றது.

TheVision of our college is to impart literacy to students of economically backward, rural areas and weaker sections of the society.
TheMission of our college is to improve the lives of rural girls, make them graduates and agents of social change.
The college Motto is
“மன இருள் விலக் மதி ஒளி நிலவ”
which means “Let the darkness of mind depart and the rays of wisdom linger”.
My experience at Ranianna is great and memorable. The teachers and mentors are really helpful and helped me to improve my academic and interpersonal skills.
Great experience from RANIANNA. You get a lot of opportunities. Work hard to get it. Be prepared for everything.
